Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?
No. Tap continue as a guest and start training. A guest account lives only on that phone, though: if you delete the app before linking an Apple ID, the data is gone with it. Sign in with Apple, or link it later from Settings, and your training syncs between devices and survives a reinstall.

How do I sign in?
With Sign in with Apple, using the Apple Account already on your device. There is no password to create or remember.

I started as a guest. Can I keep my data when I sign in?
Yes. Settings → link Apple ID attaches your Apple Account to the guest account, keeping every workout, exercise and level. If that Apple ID already has its own Retrolift account, the app will tell you and offer to switch to it instead.

How do I delete my account?
Open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. Signed in with Apple, you confirm with Apple; as a guest it happens straight away. This permanently removes your account and all training data. You can also email me to request deletion.

Can I hide my email address?
Yes. Choose Hide My Email when Apple asks, and the app only ever receives Apple's private relay address.

Workouts are not showing up on another device.
Make sure both devices are signed in with the same Apple Account and have an internet connection. A guest account never syncs; that is what signing in adds.

What do the levels mean?
Skills and strength exercises follow the Bodyweight Fitness progressions chart, so a pull-up ladder runs through typewriter and one-arm negative, and a planche ladder through frog and straddle. Your current level is remembered per exercise; RESET on a session rewinds the rest of it.

Where does my exercise photo go?
It is shrunk to a small thumbnail and stored with that exercise so it shows on your other devices. The original is never uploaded and the app never sees the rest of your photo library.

What does the tip unlock?
Nothing. Every feature is free. The tip is a thank-you, handled by Apple, and cannot be restored because there is nothing to restore.
